In the third part of the story, Laura recounts the ongoing learning as she moves to the south and adds sheep, a much larger garden, and learning to process animals to the goal of self-sufficiency.

Laura and Chris make the first move from suburbs to remote acreage. They begin to garden, to raise chickens and rabbits, to live in a forest where bears run free and re-learn a life of long-ago, of greater self-sufficiency, of herbs and using what you have.
